~ Prayin' For Rain ~

The sun been shinin'.. down on me
But those bright skies I don't wanna see
The ground is hard, the soil dry
The crops are turning brown.. They're gonna die

I'm Prayin' for rain, I'm wishin' for storms
I'm hopin' that sun.. it don't burn my corn
An' do you hear me Lord.. listen to my plea
A good days rain is all I need... it's all I need

I make my livin'.. livin' off the land
On ground first plowed by my Grandpa's hand
My Daddy died here, he gave his blood to the dirt
I'll give mine too.. for what it's worth

A banker came by.. he said he meant no harm
But if I lose the crops, then I lose the farm
The rows are dry... the soil dust
An' if the harvest dies then the farm goes bust
